How can you tell if a hamsters a boy or a girl?

My hamster I thought was a girl since that what the lady at the pet store said but now i'm not to sure also my old hamster we thought was a boy but at the end of his life we thought he didn't look much like the older dwarf hamsters. My hamster I have now is a black bear hamster. How can i tell it's gender?

1. Boy hampsters have great big ole balls.
2. The same way you can tell a boy or girl dog...or, get two and see if they breed. Whichever has the babies is the girl.

4. If you hold your hamster belly up, you can see if its a boy or girl.. I've been told that hamsters are too small to be fixed, so if its a boy, you can see its testicles, and if its a girl, then there will be nothing to see.
5. flip your hamster over. if it has niples and a small genital area, then you know it's a girl. if it has no nipples and big testicles, you know it's a boy
6. If your hamsters are too young to have any prominent nipples or balls, this is how you determine its sex. Turn your hamster over and look at the 'holes' near its backside. If there are two holes that's far apart, then it is a male. For female, the two holes are close together as though it is only one.
7. Look online. if u look in the right places u will find picture's of the m/f hamster gentialia---that'll help for sure! ZETA
